Frequently asked questions
How is Xcitium different from regular antivirus?
Regular antivirus allows everything that is not known to be malicious. Xcitium only lets unknown files run isolated until they are proven safe, so even new, unknown ransomware has no chance to do damage.
Will employees notice the containment?
Hardly. Unknown programs remain usable while they are being assessed, and according to Xcitium the cloud updates put hardly any load on the endpoint.
Will our accounting or industry software keep working?
Yes. Known and trusted software runs normally. For custom or less common applications we set up a trusted list during the rollout so they do not end up in containment.
Is Xcitium suitable for SMEs?
Certainly. Xcitium scales from a handful of workstations to large organisations. For SMEs without their own security team, the combination of containment and a 24/7 SOC is particularly attractive.
Where is our data stored?
Xcitium has separate EU environments (EU login for the Platform, Enterprise Platform and MSP Platform). According to Xcitium's privacy policy, data may also be processed outside the EEA, including in the US. We discuss in advance which environment suits you.
Is Xcitium the same as Comodo?
Xcitium describes itself as "formerly known as Comodo Security Solutions". The technology, including the well-known auto-containment, has been developed further under the Xcitium name. You will still come across the Comodo name in the platform and the manuals.
What does Xcitium cost?
Xcitium charges per endpoint per month. The price depends on the package and the number of devices. We are happy to prepare a tailored quote, without a long-term contract if you prefer.
